W/O ROPE

A page of notes from the Naturalist Workshop 2014 in Provincetown, MA that Dalvero Academy attended last weekend. Entanglement is a major issue for whales, turtles and other marine animals. Rope used to be made of hemp, now it is all made of plastic. It doesn’t break down, EVER, and so this plastic rope becomes entangled and never wears away! ROPE is the problem! Learned a lot at the Naturalist Workshop listening to some very concerned individuals who dedicate their lives to helping marine animals.

The Whale Naturalist Workshop was co-hosted by the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies, the Dolphin Fleet of Provincetown, and the WDC (Whale and Dolphin Conservation) group.
