Monet’s Sunny Garden

Monet’s Sunny Garden

vl_monets_gardenAs the weather is starting to get colder here in New York, I felt like putting a little sunshine up on our blog. This mixed media drawing/painting was made at Monet’s garden in Giverny this past June, while I was visiting with my family. Monet had quite a set-up! Get up every morning, coffee and breakfast in a huge French yellow and blue kitchen, and then walk outside to the garden to paint. Or if you prefer, walk down the hall to your huge studio surrounded by windows overlooking the garden on three sides. Way to play it, Monet!

Anyway, thought a few warm yellow gold flowers might distract me from the fact that I need to wear more layers outside this week than last…

This is really wonderful….great job! I’ve just discovered this website through your book I got at our library. All of you draw beautifully. Keep up the good work. With Central Park and those museums, what a life!

Thank you Judy! It’s true, we’re lucky to be so close to Central Park and the museums of NYC. Hope you enjoy our book, we have another one coming out in December – One Watercolor A Day. Best, Veronica
